About Ms. Watts
Jen Watts brings more than two decades of global leadership in clinical operations and development to Aurion Biotechnology. As Vice President and Global Head of Clinical Operations, she leverages deep expertise and a proven record of delivering complex, high-impact clinical programs, with a particular focus on ophthalmology. Her strategic vision, operational excellence, and commitment to innovation have consistently advanced programs across all phases of development.
Prior to joining Aurion, Jen served as Vice President of Global Clinical Operations at Opthea, where she directed transformative late-stage ophthalmic trials. Her leadership experience spans senior roles at Complement Therapeutics, Oculis, and Graybug Vision, where she designed global clinical strategies and built agile, high-performing teams.
Earlier in her career, Jen held key positions at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and Alcon, including Clinical Science Director, contributing to the advancement of early-stage ophthalmology programs. She began her clinical operations career in the San Francisco Bay Area, managing trials for leading biopharmaceutical companies such as Gilead Sciences, Actelion, and Genentech across therapeutic areas including immunology, oncology, respiratory, and cardiovascular.
Jen earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science – Clinical Research Management from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Her scientific expertise, global perspective, and unwavering dedication to improving patient outcomes make her an invaluable member of Aurion’s executive team.
